SAPPHIRE OR SPINEL STERLING SIGNET RING

SAPPHIRE OR SPINEL STERLING SIGNET RING

180.00

These unique one-of-a-kind sterling silver signet rings feature sapphire or spinel that have been cast directly into the silver using the ancient technique of cuttlefish casting. The textures of the cuttlefish bone are what give the ring its distinctive patterning, which are carefully selected through the carving process, and the casting method imparts a luster to the silver that is exclusive to the process.

Materials & Measurements:

  • Recycled sterling silver ring. Approximate Weight: 10.9g.

  • 0.5-1.0ct sapphire/spinel.

  •  Size of ring = US 5.5

 Stone Choices

  • A slightly embedded pink sapphire that sits on the top of the ring (not shown)

  • A triangle bi-color purple/pink sapphire that sits on the top of the ring

  •  A blue embedded spinel that is sitting in the base and side of the ring and created some sparkly bits along the side of the ring. The top has been filed flat and polished.

  • A peachy/orange spinel that is deeply embedded and peaks along the side of the ring and appears a lot darker due to being embedded.

  • A color changing garnet that is partly embedded and sits toward the top of the ring.

The ring can be made to order. Due to the uniqueness of the casting process, no two rings are the same. There is always a little movement of the stones when the molten silver hits them and the amount of silver that covers the stones can vary. This is what makes the process so exciting!
