This unique one-of-a-kind gold ring features an ethically sourced, purple Afghan sapphire that has been cast directly into the gold using the ancient technique of cuttlefish casting. The textures of the cuttlefish bone are what give the ring its distinctive patterning, which are carefully selected through the carving process, and the casting method imparts a luster to the gold that is exclusive to the process. Each side of the ring is uniquely patterned, which provides alternative wearing possibilities.

Materials & Measurements:

  • Recycled 10K gold ring. Weight: 7.8g.

  • Purple 1.7ct sapphire.

  •  Size of ring = US 6.5

A customized version of this ring can be made. Due to the uniqueness of the casting process, no two rings are the same. There is always a little movement of the stones when the molten gold hits them and the amount of gold that covers the stones can vary. This is what makes the process so exciting!
