MARCH IS AQUAMARINE MONTH

The aquamarine... has the glassy tint of the waves of the sea.

In ancient times, Aquamarine was attributed to the God of the Sea, Neptune. It is said that in ancient Rome sailors would use the stone for their protection at sea by tossing their aquamarine treasures into the waters.

The stone’s name comes from Latin “ Aqua Marina” meaning sea water - appropriate for its watery color.  Aquamarine is one of the official birthstones for the month of March and is also the designated gemstone for 19th wedding anniversaries. It is also assigned to the zodiac sun sign Scorpio.
